[WIP!!!] Soot From The Flames (Sootball)

"Soot From The Flames", later nicknamed Sootball is a 9-year-old Tabaxi rogue (arcane trickster).

Biography

Before Campaign

In the begnning of her childhood, Sootball (Soot From The Flames) lived on the outskirts of the Ten Towns with her sorceress mother, Autumn (Autumn Turning To Winter). They lived a reclusive hermit lifestyle, hunting, fishing and gathering from the wilds. They had very little interaction with other humanoid species, this was by choice of her mother, who had an aversion to humanity. Autumn was a skilled sorceress and used a number of protection spells to secure Sootball's safety.

During a hunt, Autumn had made one too many mistakes with a white dragon and had become grappled by the monster's jaw. Sootball was onlooking the encounter, desperate to save her mother she grabbed her arm and tried to pull her free. Sootball was far too young, far to weak to win against the strength of a dragon. Sootball watched her mother's arm rip from her body as she was devoured by the monster. Autumn was able to cast a final teleportation spell to send her daughter back to the safety of their cabin, ensuring Sootball wouldn't meet the same fate she did. Sootball stood alone in the cabin, clutching onto her mother's severed arm, in complete shock. Her mother's arm has since decomposed, Sootball still carries her humerus bone under her cloak as a memento.

After a few weeks, the provisions within the cabin ran out. Sootball found shelter in the streets of a neighboring town. She has used her skills learnt by her mother to steal food and supplies for her survival. Her black fur and tiny, nimble body has made her a skilled pickpocket. Sootball's common tongue is broken as she learnt the language by overhearing conversations on the streets. She is a street-smart kid and speaks Tabaxian well. Despite her trauma, Sootball is still a kid and loves discovering new wonders from the world around her.

During Campaign
Pocket Dimension
After travelling through a mysterious portal, Sootball found herself trapped in a Pocket Dimension that served as a prison for a man named Corsair. The first person she met in this dimension was a Goliath named Growth, who had also been trapped here a few months before her. His gentle nature appealed to Sootball and the two became companions. Growth’s ability to identity edible plants and Sootball’s ability to swiftly hunt the woodland creatures made the two a great duo. Like her mother, Growth was also reclusive and was much happier foraging new species of fungi within this dimension. He seemed unbothered that he was trapped, Sootball was much more restless, however, as she was motivated in finding a way to resurrect her mother.

The duo eventually run into Zephiros the Third, the leader of the Bronze Banner. In need of coin, the two accept his offer to join his group.

Autumn Turning To Winter

Sootball has very fond, yet complex memories of her mother. She carries her grief with her, it is a key motivator in her daily life. Her main goal in life is to resurrect her mother, she is often willing to accept unfair deals for the possibility to see her mother again.

Growth

(party member)
He was the first person that Sootball met in the pocket dimension. He quickly took on a parental role for the lost child, but she would never admit that as Sootball prides herself on her independence. She cares greatly for him and has formed an attachment to him during their antics while trying to escape Corsair's prison. He makes her feel a sense of safety and security that she hadn't felt since losing her mother.

Zephiros

As the leader of the group that Sootball is in, the Bronze Banner, Sootball looks up to Zephiros for leadership and guidance. Though, his guidance can often be a bad influence on Sootball as his main motivator is money. Regardless, Sootball knows that Zephiro's ultimate loyalty is to the members of the Bronze Banner and she frequently tries to recruit members to help Zephiros build his status. She thinks he is a slacker, but as long as she is praised for her role, she doesn't mind.

Kurk

(ex-party member?)
She likes that he is the same height as her, but other than that Sootball has a hard time understanding Kurk and his motives. After leaving the Bronze Banners, Sootball became suspicious of him.
